Tiploom shift import template
Eleven clearly named columns and one illustrative row. Replace or remove the example before using the file as your own record.

What each column records

job | Required workplace or job name. |
worked_minutes | Whole minutes worked after unpaid breaks. |
currency | Three-letter currency matching the destination ledger, such as USD. |
wages | Wages earned for the shift. Leave blank when unknown. |
cash_tips | Cash tips earned. |
card_tips | Card tips earned. |
tip_in | Tips received from coworkers or a pool. |
tip_out | Tips shared with coworkers or a pool. |
card_paid_now | Use yes/no, true/false or 1/0. |
notes | Optional context about the shift. |
Prepare a clean import file
- Keep one header row and one shift per row.
- Save as UTF-8 CSV.
- Use
YYYY-MM-DDdates and whole worked minutes. - Use one currency per ledger. Do not use currency symbols inside amount cells.
- Quote notes that contain commas, or let the spreadsheet export them correctly.
- Keep the original source file until the imported rows are checked.
Tiploom also supports semicolon-separated files and decimal-comma amounts when you enable those options before previewing.
Preview before saving in Tiploom
Open Your data → Import CSV history → Choose CSV. Map the date and job columns, then map any optional fields that exist. Preview every row before saving. Invalid rows cannot be imported, and possible duplicates start unchecked.
Blank wages stay unknown. Other blank or unmapped tip amounts become zero. If the ledger changes while you review the preview, generate it again before importing.
CSV is for shift history, not complete recovery
Imports are limited to 2 MB, 5,000 data rows and 100 columns. CSV does not restore payroll settlements, saved job presets, drafts or preferences. Use a Tiploom JSON backup when you need a complete recoverable copy of supported ledger data.
